Don't you hate it when you want to have fun, and it feels like forever since you've seen a certain group of friends, but you need to work?

I have been invited to so many Halloween get-togethers, but it looks like I'm spending the holiday whole with my vehicle.

If I'm lucky I'll get time to spend on my project car. I'm to the stage of bolting on the front sheetmetal so it actually looks like a car again and I'd like to finish it up before the snow flies. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have to wait to put the bumper on until I get replacement bumper brackets. Somehow half of the ones I need are missing. I do have ones for a different front end so that's special. Know anybody who wants front bumper brackets for a 70-73 Camaro RS?

Projects? I've got to fix the SL600 and get it an oil change, I need to catch up with the shop about the Magnum, and I'm going to a concert on Friday, so hopefully escaping the halloween stuff. I've just outgrown it, it doesn't do anything for me, and I don't party anyway.

and I did 2 oil changes and front brakes in the driveway this weekend. (Oil - Jeep Commander, Oil/Front Brakes - Mercury Milan)

I've got some things to do, but I'm not sure how much of them are getting done - I need welding gas, for one, and haven't gotten more yet. I'm also getting roped into two brake jobs during the week - yay me.

I just put an offer in on a new house. With no garage. So my restoration project (1968 Triumph Spitfire) HAS to get done by closing in the first week of December. I will be LOCKED in the garage between now and then. I have to rewire the entire car (including upgrading the generator system (22 amps, wtf?) with a Delco (90 amps baby!), rebuild the front suspension and steering rack, put new carb kits in the Hs2 SUs, paint the engine bay and put in new brakes all around. Then I have to put the dash back together, make new door panels and install the carpet. Oh, I have to recover the seat and will have to use a welder to repair the rust damage.

I'm at 3500 miles since the last oil change and I still haven't figured what's up with my ignition switch wiring. Well, to be exact, I've figured out what's what, but the electrical tape and crimp connectors have sort of melded into a gooey mess. I'm tempted to just splice in the new switch and let things be, but my inner engineer's not happy with that.

With any luck my car will be finished* with all the graphics and other stuff on it for the first time and I will be able to take the girlfriend to a corn maze.

*sort-of finished... it will never be truly done

I've two 'projects' on wednesday but both will be fun. I've two cars to detail, one a full detail on Skoda Fabia and the other an exterior clean on a Fiat Grande Punto.

The Skoda Fabia (like this one I did but in red).

and the Fiat Grande Punto is identical to this one I did previously.

I would rather spend my weekend with a wrench then hanging out third-wheeling with my friends and other people.

Cars are better than getting pressured into having a drink then sitting around while everyone else makes out with each other or goes to the "spare room".

I hate parties.
